Loki Season 2 is one of the most anticipated web series from the Marvel Cinematic Universe this year. The spinoff superhero show gathered immense praise and attention worldwide in its first instalment in 2021. Even after being in the last few episodes, Jonathan Majors' character Kang garnered applause from fans alongside Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson and Sophia Di Martino. Meanwhile, earlier this year, Majors got arrested in an assault case that raised questions about his upcoming season's casting. However, one of the executive producers has recently confirmed that he is set to be a crucial part of this season.

Jonathan Majors' assault case

Earlier this year, Major was charged in a domestic violence case against a woman identified as Grace Jabbari. According to a report on VARIETY, after multiple delays, the court hearing started in September, while the Judge ordered prosecutors to respond to a motion to dismiss from Majors ahead of an October 25 hearing.

Makers respond to Major's role in the show

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, one of the executive producers Kevin Wright unveiled Major's character as Victor Timely and called him the main villain in the upcoming show as the makers wanted to showcase Timely as a crucial bad guy. "I think we’re really excited about how that integrates into the season. It’s a big part of the show," he added.

Loki Season 2 release date

Loki season 2 is all set to release on October 5 at 6 p.m. PT. However, in India, viewers will be able to stream the MCU series from October 6 at 6 a.m. on Disney Plus Hotstar.
