Lokesh Kanagaraj reveals Leo-Kaithi link: 'This Thalapathy Vijay starrer is not a usual movie'

Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj on Wednesday attended a college event in Chennai. And he was flooded with questions from the students about his upcoming movie Leo . And Lokesh did his best to answer all the questions much to the joy of the students, who are eagerly waiting to see Thalapathy Vijay in full action in Leo. 

One of the students asked when will he release the second single from Leo. And Lokesh's response took everyone by surprise as he hinted that Leo was not be a typical five-fights, six-songs movie. "The second single will take time. It's not a usual movie. It's a film like Kaithi," he revealed.

Kaithi, starring Karthi in the lead role, was the first big hit in Lokesh's career. The film revolved around a just-released convict, who ends up saving the entire police force of Chennai City. The entire action-packed movie plays out over one night. The narrative about a drug syndicate that began with that film was continued with Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan. It's said that Leo is also part of the same cinematic universe that Lokesh is creating. 

Lokesh's latest comments re-emphasise his earlier statement that Leo won't be like any typical other typical Vijay movie. The hit filmmaker described Leo as "100 per cent my movie", suggesting that after the magnificent success of Vikram, he enjoys great freedom to make the kind of movies he wanted to make. 

Earlier, the makers of Leo released the first song named 'Naa Ready' from the film's music album. The song was released on the occasion of Vijay's birthday last month. The dance anthem was an instant hit. Besides Vijay, the movie also stars Trisha, Arjun Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Mansoor Ali Khan.

Leo is due in cinemas on October 19.
