Lock Upp winner Munawar Faruqui keeps his promise, meets acid attack survivor

Munawar Faruqui has already been conquering hearts and he became even more popular since he won the popular reality show Lock Upp, hosted by Kangana Ranaut. And he's winning more hearts of the audience by keeping the promise he made on the show. On Monday, the artist shared a photo of his meet-up with acid attack survivor Daulat Bi Khan on his Instagram stories. "Daulat Bi in hope and inspiration," he wrote, adding, "Great meeting you aur duaoon ke le liye shukriya."

On International Women's Day, Daulat Bi Khan was among some of the acid attack survivors who were invited to Lock Upp. Munawar had then promised that he would meet her even outside the show, according to a News18 article.

In 2010, Daulat Bi Khan, her two sisters, and a one-year-old niece were attacked by acid by her sister and her husband, after she refused to marry her brother-in-law. Her sister's husband was looking to acquire the house, which had to be eventually sold for Daulat's treatment. With 46 percent burns, no hospital would treat her for free, so they had to sell their home in order to pay for the treatment.

Munawar Faruqui's followers are blown away by the comedian's gracious gesture of visiting Daulat. They praised him for fulfilling his promise.

Munawar Faruqui became one of the most popular Lock Upp candidates and ultimately, won the competition as well. He not only earned 18 lakh votes from the viewers but also won the vote of the show's host, Kangana Ranaut. Munawar received Rs 20 lakh, a car, and an all-expenses-paid trip to Italy in addition to the trophy.
