Lock Upp: Kangana Ranaut calls Ekta Kapoor’s OTT reality show a ‘game changer’; congratulates winner Munawar Faruqui

In its debut season, Lock Upp quickly went on to become one of the most popular reality shows of the year. Kangana Ranaut made her hosting debut with the show, which aired its finale recently. The actress recently opened up about her experience as host of the show.

In a conversation with news agency IANS, Kangana talks about how glad she was to have made her OTT debut with a show as bold as Lock Upp.

"Lock Upp has been an absolute game-changer in the OTT reality space. I am glad that I chose such a strong and impactful project to make my OTT debut with,” she said.

The actress also talked about how audiences loved the show due to its ‘original’ and ‘bold’ concept. She said that she had an ‘incredible’ time hosting the ‘badass’ show, and added that she also had a huge responsibility to choose a winner worthy of the show. The actress congratulated the show’s winner, comedian Munawar Faruqui,and said he deserved to win the trophy of first ‘successful’ season of the show. The actress also added that she wanted to make use of the ‘position of power’ she is in today to ‘establish the highest standards of righteousness.’

The reality show, produced by Ekta Kapoor, had five finalists competing for its trophy, in the form of Shivam Sharma, Azma Fallah, Payal, Munawar and Anjali Arora. While Munawar won the trophy, Payal emerged as the show’s runner up.
