It’s official that Kamal Haasan, who has been hosting the past eight seasons of the reality show Bigg Boss Tamil, has stepped down. The multi-faceted actor-politician cited prior cinematic commitments, which did not enable him to give enough time to keep hosting the upcoming season of the show as well.

Now that it is clear that the place for a host is empty, it is quite evident that the makers of the show are on the lookout to replace Kamal Haasan. We list out the potential hosts who can replace Kamal Haasan and would do a neat job of anchoring the show.

Who will host the next Bigg Boss Tamil season?

Silambarasan

It is a no-brainer that the channel opts for Silambarasan, who has previous experience hosting the show. It is to be noted that earlier, when Kamal Haasan was down with COVID-19 and unable to step out, Silambarasan had briefly played the host in one of the seasons. Given his prior experience, chances are highly likely that Silambarasan will become the anchor once again with his ability to channel both playfulness and strictness with the contestants.

Vijay Sethupathi

Vijay Sethupathi is no new face for Tamil audiences. Known for his experimentative roles and philosophical take on life, Vijay Sethupathi is just an apt choice for hosting Bigg Boss Tamil. Besides, the actor had also anchored MasterChef Tamil earlier, which gives the actor an edge. It would be interesting to see how Vijay Sethupathi can ease in and out from being a strict patron for the contestants while at the same time imparting wisdom for those in need.

Madhavan

Madhavan becomes an instant favourite choice to host Bigg Boss, not only for his charm but also for his ability to stay calm and nonchalant even in the toughest of times. Having said that, the actor also enjoys a massive fan following, which instantly puts him as a comfortable and easy choice to host the reality show, which needs the host to think with clarity and react.

Suriya

Suriya is no new face on the small screen, as he has earlier hosted Vijay TV’s Neengalum Velalam Oru Kodi. While the actor may be busy with multiple projects on his hands, it will indeed be a pleasant surprise if Suriya takes up to interact with Bigg Boss contestants during the weekends. The actor, who is known for maintaining his calmness even in the toughest of situations and clarity in his ethical standing, will definitely make a perfect choice given how the Bigg Boss show can become really complicated at times.

Prakash Raj

Prakash Raj hosting Bigg Boss would be one of the innovative choices that the show's makers would come up with. The versatile actor, much like Kamal Haasan, has been vocal about the issues that plague society. Thus, it is no-brainer that someone as eloquent and candid as Prakash Raj would be the best choice to play the anchor in Bigg Boss, which has no shortage of drama. It would be interesting to see how the actor will counsel and condition the contestants when needed, while at the same time being able to be friendly and chatty as well, much like the diametrically opposite roles he does in cinema. He had hosted Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi after Suriya.
