Vikrant Massey says he wants to essay characters that represent the common man: 'I want to inspire my audience'

Vikrant Massey made his name in the film industry with his impeccable acting prowess. After impressing the audience with his brilliant performance in the hit film '12th Fail', the actor is now gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Sector 36. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that he wants to make sure that he delivers characters that represent the common man, and keeping that in mind he chooses his projects. 

Vikrant Massey reveals people advised him to not do Sector 36

Recently, while promoting his film Sector 36, the actor told ANI that he does not want to restrict himself by doing the same kind of content. He said, "As an actor, it's my responsibility to entertain the audience with different stories. There's so much to explore and I want to tell every kind of story. I want to inspire my audience with my work. I want to become the voice of a common man."

The Chhapaak actor also mentioned that he was advised by a few people that he should not do Sector 36 after the commercial success of 12th Fail. He said, "Many advised me not to do this project (as I am essaying the grey character). But I don't believe in this... Some stories are important to be told and this is one of them."

About Sector 36

Sector 36 revolves around the disappearance of several children from a local slum and is inspired by true events. The film’s synopsis reads, “The film traces the story of a once-complacent police inspector who is on the heels of a devious serial killer when justice becomes personal as several children go missing from a basti (slum) in Sector 36”.

It is produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and Jio Studios and is written by Bodhayan Roychaudhury. The crime thriller is directed by Aditya Nimbalkar, who is set to make his directorial debut with this project.

Sector 36 will be released on Netflix on September 13, 2024.
