With his unique style, charisma, and acting prowess, Sanjay Dutt is one of the most loved actors in the film industry. He is the son of legendary actors Nargis Dutt and Sunil Dutt. He made his dashing entry in Bollywood with the 1981 film Rocky and it was nothing short of grand. The actor became an overnight sensation with his presence on the big screens. As the actor celebrates his 65th birthday today, let's take a look at his top films.

Sanjay Dutt's Top Films

Rocky (ZEE5)

Directed by Sunil Dutt, Rocky was released in the year 1981. The movie was Sanjay Dutt's debut film and also starred Reena Roy, Tina Munim, Sunil Dutt, and Shakti Kapoor. The story of the film revolves around Rocky (Sanjay) who is adopted by Robert and Kathy after his father's death. When Rocky finds out the truth about his real parents, he sets out to avenge his father's death. Dutt marked his territory in the industry after his performance in this film, making it clear that he is here to stay.

Khal Nayak (ZEE5)

Khal Nayak was directed by Subhash Ghai and was released in 1993. Alongside Dutt, the film also featured Madhuri Dixit, Jackie Shroff, Anupam Kher, Raakhee, and others. The narrative of the film revolves around a gangster (Dutt), who escapes from prison. Jackie's police officer along with his girlfriend, played by Madhuri then sets on a mission to arrest him only to find out that he became a criminal after being corrupted by his boss in childhood as he was poor. The female inspector helps him escape. Khanayak is still known as Sanjay Dutt's one of the best and most successful projects in his filmography.

Vaastav: The Reality (Prime Video)

This one is my personal favourite. Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, Sanjay Dutt plays the role of Raghunath Namdev Shivalkar who turns into a gangster from a common man after he accidentally kills one of his customers. His outstanding performance in this crime drama is undoubtedly one of the best works in Indian cinema. The film also featured Namrata Shirodkar, Reema Lagoo, and Shivaji Satam, among others.

Saajan (Prime Video)

Saajan is a 1991 romantic drama film directed by Lawrence D'Souza and starring Dutt with Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit. The story of the film revolves around Aman aka Sagar (Sanjay), Akash (Salman), and Pooja (Madhuri). When both the brothers fall in love with Pooja and find out about the same, they are willing to sacrifice their love for each other. The film is a heartwarming story of love and heartbreak.

Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (Prime Video)

When anyone talks about Sanjay Dutt and his films, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S has to be on their list as the actor surprised everyone with his quirky avatar in this one. Released in the year 2003, the film is about a gangster who decides to become a doctor to fulfill his father's dream. Once again, Sanjay shared the screen space with his father Sunil Dutt on the big screens and audiences loved every bit of it. The film also marked a turning point in Sanjay's career.

Agneepath (Netflix)

Released in the year 2012, Agneepath stars Dutt with Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra and Rishi Kapoor. The narrative of the film revolves around Vijay (Hrithik) who finds out that his father was wrongfully murdered by Kancha Cheena (Dutt) and embarks on a path of revenge. Dutt's character of Kancha Cheena became iconic after his powerful performance in this action drama.

KGF Chapter 2 (Prime Video)

Another action drama, another villainous role but won everyone's heart with his acting talent once again. Yes! That's what Sanjay Dutt did with this film. The actor played the role of Adheera in Yash and Raveena Tandon starrer KGF 2. The story of the film is about Rocky (Yash), who successfully rises as the leader and savior of the people of the Kolar Gold Fields but his real fight begins when he tackles Adheera and Inayat Khalil (Raveena). Besides Dutt's performance, his deadly look in the film also became the talk of the town.
