2025 is not only the year where movie sequels will release in theatres but the demand for iconic films being adapted is at an all-time high. While Imtiaz Ali has teased Rockstar 2, there are more movies that people want to watch.
Ranbir Kapoor-Nargis Fakhri's film Rockstar is likely to get a sequel. Imtiaz Ali has confirmed the same by stating that he could sit and an idea for Rockstar 2 might strike. Now the only question remains is, will Ranbir Kapoor get into the skin of Jordan again or will we see a new character all over again?
Harshvardhan Rane's Sanam Teri Kasam is likely to get a sequel too. At least the lead actor as well as the makers are trying for the film to get its sequel.
More recently, Boney Kapoor has announced that he would like to work on the sequel of Sridevi's MOM after wrapping up No Entry 2. Khushi Kapoor, born to Sridevi and Boney, will be the leading face of the franchise. It is to be noted that three films featuring Khushi are already out. The Archies, Loveyapa as well as the recently released Nadaaniyan got a lukewarm response. Nonetheless, she is a part of MOM 2.
It all began with Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan sharing a hug for Jab We Met sequel to be demanded. Imtiaz has confirmed that it is not happening anytime soon, but the demand for it is nowhere stopping.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was probably the most spoken-of sequel this year. People are craving to watch more stories like those - where friends just live - but Reema Kagti has clearly stated that a film like ZNMD should be left untouched unless there's a really strong script. So, this one is again on the backburner.
The best part of this is that Hera Pheri 3 is actually happening. Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshini are going to collaborate for the much-awaited movie after wrapping up Bhooth Bangla and guess what - the OG cast aka Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty, Tabu and even Gulshan Grover are coming back!
