Released today, June 7, 2024, Munjya, the newest Hindi horror comedy from prolific director Aditya Sarpotdar, is just one more interesting addition to the director's extensive and varied oeuvre. In the film industry, he has made a name for himself as a multi-genre, multi-lingual filmmaker. His directing endeavours have enthralled audiences, from the exciting pursuit of a heritage shield in Uladhaal to the touching coming-of-age tale in Satrangi Re, from the riveting land war in Narbachi Wadi to the college political drama in Classmates.
The crime thriller Faster Fene and the action drama Mauli are two of his notable works that demonstrate his talent for creating captivating stories. In Uladhaal, the villagers track down the burglar who steals a heritage shield from their hamlet in Goa. Lokesh Gupte, Nirmal Pandey, Aditi Sarangdhar, Sunil Dev, Siddheshwar Zhaadbuke, Siddharth Jadhav, Subodh Bhave, Ankush Choudhary, and Bharat Jadhav are starring in the film. It is produced by Vijayanti Vishwas Sarpotdar, and directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. Aditya Sarpotdar, Vijay Patwardhan, and Rajesh Kolan wrote the script. In the film, a king would reward a brave fighter with a golden shield if he saved the king's life. Each succeeding generation continued the family's tradition of protecting this shield.
The musically inclined senior class of Satrangi Re is a tight-knit group of friends. The way they interact with their parents, romantic partners, and peers goes through a transformation. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Bhushan Pradhan, Amruta Khanvilkar, Adinath Kothare, Shrirang Deshmukh, Supriya Matkari, Siddharth Chandekar, Pooja Sawant, and Madhav Abhyankar. Genelia Deshmukh produced and Aditya Sarpotdar directed the 2018 Marathi action drama Mauli. Along with Saiyami Kher, the film stars Riteish Deshmukh as the title character. Based on the 2012 film Vettai, this one is a remake. Despite not being a sequel, the film shares many similarities with Lai Bhaari (2014), including its premise and plot points. After its release, critics divided on Mauli, with some praising the cinematography, Deshmukh's performance, the score, action scenes, and narration, while others criticised the writing and pacing. Aditya Sarpotdar directs The Sholay Girl, a 2019 biographical period drama film, which Shrabani Deodhar, Sai Deodhar, and Shakti Anand produce. Written by Faizal Akhtar and Shrabani Deodhar, the film is based on India's first stuntwoman, Reshma Pathan. Bidita Bag portrays Pathan's role, while Chandan Roy Sanyal, Prince Rodde, and Aditya Lakhia appear in supporting roles. The title refers to Sholay, in which Pathan worked as a stunt double for Hema Malini. To prepare for the role, Bag trained in martial arts. She also said that she watched the tonga scene from Sholay at least 100 times to master the role.

Aditya Sarpotdar directed the musical drama Unaad in 2023, featuring Abhishek Bharate, Devika Daftardar, Ashutosh Gaikwad, Hemal Ingle, and Chinmay Jadhav in Marathi. The Zlin International Film Festival selected the film to compete in the international feature film competition. Unaad was screened at Mumbai's Moving Image Academy (MAMI). This film follows three Koli youths as they navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by their community.
