The way the world has embraced global content, breaking the barrier of language and embracing subtitles, is the real cinema revolution that was long overdue. In India, the barter between the Hindi film industry and the four from the South has existed for ages but gained significant limelight only in the past decade. The love for content across these two divisions has always been evident. While the influence of the Hindi industry on the South has been clear, the South's influence on Bollywood has been equally strong. The love for South films in the Hindi circle has been immense. Over the years, people have enjoyed many mass-appealing films from the South on satellite TV. However, there is a different subsection that audiences have enjoyed for years now, and it is that of South Indian films dubbed in Hindi.
The love for South Indian films dubbed in Hindi is immense among the Hindi-speaking audience. For years, we have seen these movies on satellite TV. Often, they are released with changed titles, only for us to realise that the movie is completely different from the original language. Many crave the fun of watching these movies. Be it Aparichit, Mass, or others like these, we all vividly remember them. SonyLIV, a leading streaming platform in India, has a library dedicated to South Indian movies dubbed in Hindi. It is the story of a man who is an ex-convict and has completed his sentence. He is free and now wants to meet his daughter, but his attempts are interrupted by bad men trying to frame him again. A drug raid and combat later, we see the truth. This is also the film that Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa is a remake of.

Stories that talk of love in the face of migration are always special because we see such stories around us all the time. Couples migrating to a distant place in search of a better life and resources is a trajectory that can lead to many things. In Love Story, when Revanth and Mounica come to a big city, they are not ready for what they are about to face. Upon its release, the Naga-Sai starrer was labelled a mature movie with sensibilities that respect the material and trajectory.
Director: Vetrimaaran

Vetrimaaran and Dhanush are an actor-director pair made in heaven, because how else do you define a pair that has given some of the most nuanced and entertaining movies of our time? The film explores themes of power and deceit and how those caught in the chaos suffer.

What she does to break free of the shackles is the essence of the film. Watch Aruvi for a unique perspective on how cinema can touch the real world.
