Shutter Island (JioCinema)

Shutter Island is a fantastic collaboration between Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese. The film is visually intriguing, and simplistic. The movie also did extremely well at the box office. 

Speaking about the plot, we see a brilliant murderer's improbable escape bringing US Marshal Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his new partner (Mark Ruffalo) to Ashecliffe Hospital, a castle-like insane asylum located on a remote, windswept island. The woman appears to have disappeared from a locked room, and there are hints of gruesome acts taking place within the walls of the hospital. As the investigation unfolds, Teddy realizes that if he hopes to make it off the island alive, he must face his own darkest fears.

This DiCaprio and Martin collaboration, The Wolf of Wall Street, is based on Jordan Belfort's 2007 memoir of the same name. Leonardo played the role of Jordan Belfort. The biographical black comedy crime film follows Belfort in an entry-level job at a Wall Street brokerage firm. 

In the early 1990s, while still in his 20s, Belfort founded his firm, Stratton Oakmont. With his trusted lieutenants and a merry band of brokers, Belfort made a huge fortune defrauding millions of wealthy investors. However, when Belfort and his friends engage in a hedonistic binge of sex, drugs, and thrills, the SEC and FBI become involved in his over-the-top empire.

Gangs of New York (Lionsgate Play)

Filmmaker Martin Scorsese showcased why he is one of a kind with the Gangs of New York. His imagination, ambition, and scope throughout the film mesmerized us. Amsterdam Vallon (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a young Irish immigrant released from prison. He begins to seek revenge against his father's killer, William Cutting (Daniel Day-Lewis), a powerful anti-immigrant gang leader. The film is definitely worth watching. Viewers considered the movie as imaginative, ambitious, and arresting. 

The Aviator (Lionsgate Play)

The biographical drama film is based on the 1993 non-fiction book Howard Hughes: The Secret Life by Charles Higham. The film shows the life of Howard Hughes, an aviation pioneer and director of the film Hell's Angels. The story follows his life from 1927 to 1947 during which time Hughes became a successful film producer and aviator while also becoming increasingly unstable due to severe obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Leonardo played the titular role in the film and received praise.
