In this week (Oct 28 to Nov 3), Tamil cinema will be celebrating Diwali with multiple releases in theatres. With no dearth for new films for the festive season, there are also some OTT releases which you can enjoy from the comfort of your home. Here are some of them.

Amaran – Theatres (October 31)

Amaran is an upcoming Tamil film starring actor Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role. The film is a biopic of late Mukund Varadarajan, a commissioned officer in the Indian Army's Rajput Regiment. He was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his operation with the 44th Rashtriya Rifles battalion. Amaran is directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy and stars Sai Pallavi as the female lead.

Brother – Theatres (October 31)

Brother is headlined by actor Jayam Ravi and is directed by filmmaker Rajesh. Touted to be a family entertainer, the cast also features Priyanka Arul Mohan, Bhumika Chawla, VTV Ganesh, Natraj Subramanian, Rao Ramesh, Achyuth Kumar, Saranya Ponvannan, Seetha, Sathish Krishnan, MS Bhaskar, Suresh Chakravarthy, Vriddhi Visha, and Master Ashwin in prominent roles. Censored U, the film’s digital rights are bagged by ZEE5.

Bloody Beggar – Theatres (October 31)

Bloody Beggar is helmed by Sivabalan in his directorial debut, and stars Kavin in the lead role. The film is tipped to be a dark comedy drama and is backed by filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar. Bloody Beggar revolves around a lazy beggar who gets into a trouble following a misadventure, which turns his life upside down. Redin Kingsley, Maruthi Prakashraj, Sunil Sukadha, T M Karthik, Padam Venu Kumar, Arshad, Priyadarshini Rajkumar, Miss Saleema, are part of the cast.

Lubber Pandhu – Disney+ Hotstar (October 31)

Lubber Pandhu is a sports family drama, starring Harish Kalayan, Dinesh, Swasika, Sanjana and others. The film is directed by Tamizharasan Pachamuthu and revolves around two headstrong men who love cricket, and oppose each other on the pitch.

Anjaamai – Aha (October 29)

Anjaamai is a legal drama directed by SP Subburaman in his directorial debut. The film stars Vidharth, Vani Bhojan and Rahman in the lead roles. Anjaamai revolves around a small farming family making their ends meet, with the father going lengths to make his son crack NEET exams.

Guardian – Aha (October 30)

Guardian is a horror film directed by Sabari and Guru Saravanan. The film is headlined by actor Hansika Motwani. Suresh Chandra Menon and Sriman are also part of the cast.

Vera Maari Office S2 – Aha (ongoing)

The second season of Vera Maari Office, a series set against the backdrop of working space, takes a horror comedy turn. The star ensemble includes RJ Vijay, Janani Ashokkumar, VJ Pappu, Soundariya Nanjundan, Raveena Daha, Jaiseelan, Vikkals Vikram, and others. It is directed by Jaswin J. Shivakanth has served as the creator and producer of the series.

Uppu Puli Kaaram – Disney+ Hotstar (ongoing)

Uppu Puli Kaaram is an ongoing series which revolves around an elderly couple living with their four grown up children. However, their lives take a turn when the father’s son from another mother comes to live with the family, creating a battle of drama and confusion. With the couple having their own secret about their new son, and the latter being a famous actor, the series is a family drama.
