From When The Stars Gossip to Can This Love Be Translated, most awaited K-Dramas of 2025

Now that Squid Game 2 has ended on a cliffhanger and we know that the third season will release in 2025 (the release date has not yet been confirmed), K-Drama world feels full again. Well, Squid Game is obviously not the only series to look forward to in the coming year. To begin with, we already have a much-awaited series When The Stars Gossip which is the first ever collab between actor Lee Min-ho and BTS' singer, Kim Seok-jin. And Min-ho meeting Jin is just the beginning of the year. Here are some more shows which have been announced and are much-awaited...

When The Stars Gossip - Netflix, January 5

The very first surprise in 2025 comes in the form of Lee Min-ho and Gong Hyo-jin's When The Stars Gossip. For the K-drama, Min-ho plays a doctor staying at a space station as a tourist because he secretly can (he's the secret son of the wealthiest conglomerate in Korea). Hyo-jin is a perfectionist Commander Eve who is on her first mission. Apart from Min-ho and Hyo-jin, the drama stars Oh Jung-se and will release on Netflix on January 5, 2025.

Motel California - Disney+Hotstar, January 10

Just a week into When The Stars Gossip, we would get to witness Lee Se-young and Marry My Husband actor Na In-woo in Motel California. The story revolves around Ji Kang-hee (Se-young) who spent her growing up years in Motel California, which was run by her father. 12 years after moving to Seoul, she finds herself back at Motel California and with it, reconnects with her childhood love, Cheon Yeon-su (In-woo). The drama is inspired by Home Bitter Home and will be out on Disney+Hotstar on January 10.

Newtopia - February 7

Imagine a show on zombie apocalypse with BLACKPINK's Jisoo in the lead. Yep, we got it! Newtopia is the drama all of us have been waiting for, and it is scheduled for February 7, 2025 release. The release platform is yet to be confirmed at the moment.

Can This Love Be Translated? - Netflix, First half of 2025

Kim Seon-ho is back, and the Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha actor is here with Go Youn-jung in another rom-com, Can This Love Be Translated? The series focuses on her being a top actress, while he is a multilingual interpreter. The two fall in love through a translation app. Also starrjng Sota Fukushi, Choi Woo-sung and Lee Yi-dam, the show is scheduled to release in the first half of 2025 on Netflix.

When Life Gives You Tangerines

IU and Park Bo-gum collaborate for a rom-com which is a childhood love story of Ae-sun and Gwan-sik and is set in Jeju Island. The series will also release on Netflix.
