From Eken Babu, Feluda to Romeo Juliet – check out the new slate of Hoichoi

Hoichoi was scheduled to make its slate announcement in August-September. According to sources, the Bengali OTT platform postponed their event due to the RG Kar incident. Now, they have announced a series of shows featuring some of the biggest stars, including, Mimi Chakraborty, Anirban Bhattacharya, Chiranjeet Chakraborty, Swastika Mukherjee, and others. From mysteries to modern adaptations of timeless classics – there seems to be something for everyone. Here’s a sneak peek into the offerings. 

Talmar Romeo Juliet  

A modern take on Shakespeare’s iconic Romeo and Juliet, this adaptation unfolds in the fictional town of Talma, exploring love, deceit, and tragedy from a different perspective. The creative director Anirban Bhattacharya launches two newcomers in the iconic roles of Romeo and Juliet, and an ensemble cast of veterans promises a praiseworthy contemporary twist on the timeless tale.

Feludar Goyendagiri: Bhushawrgo Bhoyonkawr  

The iconic Feluda, Topshe, and Jatayu return in this gripping tale set in the divine landscapes of Kashmir. Directed by Srijit Mukherji, this installment revives Feluda's nostalgia while delivering a thrilling mystery to the new generation.

Puro Puri Eken  

Beloved detective Eken Babu, played by Anirban Chakrabarti, returns in this thrilling adventure set against the vibrant backdrop of Puri. As he embarks on a journey to solve a series of mysterious murders, viewers are in for a fun and thrilling ride filled with suspense, food, and Eken's iconic quirks. Directed by Joydeep Mukherjee, this series promises to bring back the quirks of Eken Babu in a narrative that is funnier than ever.   

Dainee  

Actress Mimi Chakraborty stars in this riveting tale of two estranged sisters caught in a brutal witch-hunt. Directed by newcomer Nirjhar Mitra, Dainee is a story of survival and justice, where superstition meets societal conflicts. 

Bishohori: Nagpanchami Utshob 

Rajnandini, a new bride, questions a centuries-old curse during the Nagpanchami festival. Solanki Roy stars in this supernatural mystery, as she embarks on a journey to uncover deep-rooted family secrets. Directed by the dynamic duo Srijit Roy and Souvik Chakraborty, this series is set to become a popular choice for many. 

Rongila Kitab  

A gripping drama set in Barisal, where Pradip, a reformed criminal, must navigate a dangerous web of deceit after being falsely implicated in a murder. Directed by Anam Biswas, this series explores the journey of Pradip played by Mostafizur Noor Imran, and his expectant wife played by Pori Moni who are forced to flee from one refuge to another, navigating a treacherous landscape of danger and uncertainty.  

Nikhoj 2  

Following the success of its first season, Nikhoj returns with a more intense and mysterious storyline. The iconic duo of Swastika Mukherjee and Tota Roy Choudhury deliver electrifying performances in this nail-biting story of a mother’s quest to find her missing daughter. In this season the audience will finally find out all the answers! 

Nikosh Chhaya  

In this supernatural thriller, Niren Bhaduri, played by Chiranjeet Chakraborty, must face a dark force threatening to unleash chaos. As the second installment in the Bhaduri Moshai series, Nikosh Chhaya will be a spine-tingling journey into the world of the occult. In this season, the ensemble cast (Surangana Bandyopadhyay, Gaurav Chakrabarty, Anindita Bose, Arna Mukhopadhyay) returns, and the plot is thickened by a new evil.  

Kaalratri  

A fusion of TV+ and murder mystery genres, Kaalratri follows the harrowing journey of Devi, whose wedding day turns into a nightmare by a twist of fate. Featuring top TRP star Soumitrisha, this series promises thrills and unexpected twists.  

Bohemian Ghora  

In this series directed by Amitabh Reza Chowdhury, Mosharraf Karim plays a truck driver, who is extraordinarily skillful with his tricks, he keeps his seven wives in seven districts of Bangladesh and skillfully manages seven households. However, his fate soon changes with an unexpected twist.
