Kannada actor Krishna Ajai Rao’s next as an actor and producer is Yuddhakaanda Chapter 2, a hard-hitting courtroom drama in which he plays a lawyer, defending a mother who murdered her child’s abuser. Directed by Pavan Bhat, Yuddhakaanda Chapter 2 has KGF-fame Archana Jois as the mother seeking justice. The film is a marked departure from the kind of light-hearted romantic dramas Ajai Rao has been known to be associated with. While most of these films were box office successes, they did not give Ajai the stardom he deserved.
Krishna Ajai Rao-led romantic dramas on OTTplay Premium
Director Prem S brought Krishna Ajai Rao, Suneel Raoh and Ramya together for this romantic drama. It was a blockbuster hit, with critics praising the fresh storytelling.

This tragic romantic drama was the directorial debut of R Chandru, who paired Krishna Ajai Rao with Pooja Gandhi. The 2008 film was a big theatrical success, and got composer Abhinandan Roy a Karnataka State Award for the score. The film was remade in Telugu in 2010.

Krishna Ajai Rao and Radhika Pandit starred in director Shashank’s 2010 romantic drama. Also starring Achyuth Kumar, Umashree, Sharan, among others, the film was the first in the ‘Krishna’ trilogy Ajai did. Krishnan Love Story was a commercial success and was remade in Bengali as Piya Re.

In 2011, Ajai Rao was Krishna yet again, in a romantic drama in which he was paired with Nidhi Subbaiah. The film was directed by Nuthan Umesh, while Sridhar Sambhram, who scored for Krishnan Love Story, was retained for this film as well.

Shashank and Ajai Rao reunited in 2015 for Krishna Leela, a romantic drama which marked the actor’s foray into production. Ashwini Nakshatra serial fame Mayuri made her big screen debut opposite Ajai, in the film, which, according to Shashank, was inspired by true events. Krishna Leela was remade in Bengali as Miss Call.

The third time that Shashank and Ajai Rao collaborated saw the director turn producer too. This time, though, the duo got together to make an action-packed drama, that focused on a mother-son relationship. Ajai was paired with Ashika Ranganath, while Sumalatha Ambareesh played his mother.
