Silambarasan turned director with this romantic thriller film and played the lead role in it. Vallavan depicted the story of the titular character, who shares a genuine friendship with Suji, and deep animosity with his toxic ex-girlfriend, Geetha. Later, he falls in love with Swapna, his teacher who is three years elder to him. Nayanthara played Swapna in the film, which features Reema Sen and Sandhya as Geetha and Suji, respectively.

Simbu reunited with director Gautham Vasudev Menon for Achcham Enbathu Madamaiyada, after the massive success of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya. The actor played the role of an MBA student, who falls in love with Leela Raman (Manjima Mohan), the best friend of his younger sister. However, things take a different turn when the couple goes on a road trip to Kanyakumari.

Saravana

The KS Ravikumar directorial narrates the story of Saravana, a college student who falls in love with his best friend Krishna's sister, Sadhana.
