Movies to watch in theatres in May 2024
The Fall Guy
Starring Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling, Fall Guy is an action-comedy directed by David Leitch. The film revolves around a stuntman, Colt Seavers (Ryan), who is in search of the missing star of a big-budget studio tentpole. The film is inspired by the 1980s TV show of the same name. The film also stars Winston Duke, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Waddingham, and Stephanie Hsu. It will be released in India on May 3, 2024.
Srikanth
Rajkummar Rao plays Srikanth Bolla in this film, which is the story of an industrialist who pursued his dreams and provided employment even after being visually impaired. The film, directed by Tushar Hiranandani also stars Jyotika, Sharad Kelkar, and Alaya F. It is slated to release in theatres on May 10, 2024.
Bhaiyya Ji
Bhaiyya Ji stars Manoj Bajpayee in the lead role. The film is directed by Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai fame Apoorv Singh Karki and also stars Suvinder Vicky, Jatin Goswami, Vipin Sharma, Zoya Hussain, and more. Going by the teaser, the film is an intense action-revenge drama with heartfelt emotions of family bonding. It is set to be released on May 24, 2024.
Mr and Mrs Mahi
Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Mr and Mrs Mahi is a sports drama directed by Sharan Sharma. Apart from the fact that the film is based on cricket, no other details of the film, including the trailer, have been revealed by the makers. This will be Janhvi and Rajkummar's second stint after the film, Roohi. The movie is set to release in cinemas on May 31, 2024.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes centres around a young ape named Noa (Owen Teague), who is on his journey to learn and teach but not in an easy way. The film showcases the struggles and difficulties he handles with bravery to be successful in his mission. The action adventure is the tenth Planet of the Apes movie and is slated to release on May 8, 2024.
Kartam Bhugtam
Kartam Bhugtam is a psychological thriller that stars Vijay Raaz, Shreyas Talpade, Madhoo, and Aksha Pardasany. The film is said to follow an intense narrative juggling between astrology and karma. Directed by Sohan P Shah, the film will be released in theatres in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam on May 17.
IF
The story of IF revolves around a young girl played by Cailey Fleming and her neighbor, played by Ryan Reynolds. The fun part about the film is that Ryan's character can see everyone's imaginary friends. Several celebrities have leant their voices to the movie, including Emily Blunt, Steve Carell, Matt Damon, Jon Stewart, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Maya Rudolph, and the late Louis Gossett Jr. It is slated to release in theatres on May 17.
