Shiv Shastri Balboa poster : Neena Gupta is on roll

National award-winning veteran actress Neena Gupta seems to have the busiest time of her career as she reveals yet another first look of one of the upcoming films titled Shiv Shastri Balboa, just 72 hours after the trailer of the multi-starrer film Goodbye, in which she is sharing screen space with Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Rashmika Mandanna, Pavail Gulati among others.

It is hard to believe that a talent like Neena was unnoticed for years after her successful stint on television with shows like Dard, Daddy, Saans, Ladies Special, Bharat Ek Khoj. Neena also produced a very popular children's fantasy show titled Son Pari for four years.

However, after working with some of the most prominent art-house filmmakers like Kundan Shah, Shyam Benegal and others, Neena went through a huge struggle and almost lost her on-screen visibility until 2018 when Badhaai Ho happened!

That one film, changed everything not only for Neena but also for the representation of middle-aged women in our Hindi cinema was ignored by the makers for the longest time. Badhaai Ho directed by Amit Sharma revolves around the story of a middle-aged woman's unplanned pregnancy that made the couple face flak from society.

This is the ninth month of the year and we can already see how Neena is having her back-to-back releases be it on OTT platforms or theatrical releases. 

The audience has already watched and loved her performances in the web series Panchayat: Season 2 on Prime Video where she narrates the character of a village woman Manju Devi. That image is very quickly broken with the next biographical web series Masaba Masaba: Season 2 on Netflix, where she plays herself, the successful actress and mother of the fashion designer Masaba Gupta.

Here we take a quick look at her upcoming films that are in the pipeline

Goodbye: Directed by Vikas Bahl, the film is starring Amitabh Bachchan, Rashmika Mandanna, Sunil Grover, Pavail Gulati, Ashish Vidyarthi along with Neena Gupta among others. Goodbye is set to release on October 7, in the theatre.

Uunchai: Directed by Sooraj Barjatya, this is a very special film that is celebrating the completion of 75 years of Rajshri Production. This is going to be the second film in which the audience will be watching Neena Gupta with Amitabh Bachchan again, alongside Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Neena Gupta, Sarika with Parineeti Chopra, Nafisa Ali Sodhi and Danny Denzongpa. The film is slated to release theatrically on November 11.

Shiv Shastri Balboa : Directed by Ajayan Venugopalan, and produced by Kishore Varieth, this film is bringing Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta together again. The film is also starring - Jugal Hansraj, Nargis Fakri, Sharib Hashmi among others. The release date of the film is yet to be announced.

Ishq-e-nadaan : The film is directed by Avishek Ghosh. The film is featuring - Lara Dutta, Mohit Raina, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Kanwaljit Singh alongside Neena Gupta among others. The shooting of the film has been completed on June 6. The release date of the film is yet to be announced.
