Thani Oruvan
Thani Oruvan is an action thriller directed by Mohan Raja. Headlined by Jayam Ravi and Arvind Swamy, the film revolves around a cop who is on a mission to get hold of a powerful scientist who uses illegal practices for his benefit. Nayanthara plays the female lead. The film was well-received at the time of its release and was praised for the performances and sleek screenplay. A sequel for the film was announced recently with Jayam Ravi and Mohan Raji set to reunite.

Anniyan
Directed by Shankar, Anniyan is a vigilante film that is a good mix of all commercial aspects. With song and dance, emotional sentiments, comedy, romance and action, Anniyan features Vikram in three roles. It follows the life of an orthodox and righteous man Ambi who suffers from multiple personality disorder and thus transforms into a ruthless vigilante punishing those who break laws. Sadha, Vivek, and Prakash Raj, among others, play supporting characters.
Vaanam
A hyperlink action drama, Vaanam is directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and is a remake of the Telugu film Vedam. The film stars Silambarasan, Bharath, Anushka Shetty, Prakash Raj, Santhanam, and others. The film revolves around five individuals who come from different walks of life, but a fateful day on New Year's Eve entwines all their lives at a hospital.
