This Venkat Prabhu directorial, which dealt with the exciting concept of the time loop, marked the massive comeback of popular star Silambarasan, after a prolonged low phase. Simbu played the role of Abdul Khaliq, who gets stuck in a time loop amidst a flight journey in the film, which features SJ Suryah, Kalyani Priyadarshan, SA Chandrasekhar, and others in key roles.

Koozhangal

Cast: Chellapandi, Karuththadaiyaan

Koozhangal aka Pebbles, the rural drama that marked the directorial debut of PS Vinothraj, earned international acclaim and immense love from the audiences. Newcomers Chellapandi and Karuththadaiyaan played the lead roles in the much-loved film, which is bankrolled by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan, under their home banner Rowdy Pictures.

Kadaisi Vivasayi

Director: M Manikandan

Cast: Nallandi, Vijay Sethupathi, Yogi Babu

The M Manikandan directorial, featured the senior real-life farmer Nallandi as the central character Mayaandi, who gets into trouble after the fellow villagers find him burying peacocks. Popular stars Vijay Sethupathi and Yogi Babu appeared in supporting roles in the film, which earned the 69th National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil Cinema.

This edge-of-the-seat thriller, which is helmed by Vignesh Raja revolves around a young cop named DSP K. Prakash, who assists senior police officer SP Loganathan IAS, in the investigation of a serial murder case. Ashok Selvan played the role of Prakash in the acclaimed film, which features R Sarath Kumar as SP Loganathan.

Gargi

Cast: Sai Pallavi, Kaali Venkat, RS Shivaji, Saravanan

Gargi, which revolves around the heart-wrenching story of the protagonist who is on a mission to prove the innocence of her father, who is accused of sexually assaulting a child. Sai Pallavi delivered a stellar performance in the Gautham Ramachandran directorial which equally impressed the audiences and critics.
