The film is a remake of the 2001 American film I Am Sam.

Pithamagan

In Pithamagan, Vikram convincingly plays the role of an undertaker, impacted by autism, who grew up far from civilisation, rendering him speechless and more barbaric. As fate has it, the film follows the undertaker's revenge after certain men finish off the criminal. The film won Vikram a National Film Award in the Best Actor category.
