Sankranthi is a lucrative season as multiple Telugu biggies get released this season. The same happened in 2024 as biggies Guntur Kaaram, Saindhav, HanuMan, and Naa Saami Ranga released between January 12-14, 2024.
Among these films, HanuMan has come out victorious as it has made three times the money spent. Guntur Kaaram stands in second place and the other two follow suit. Let us look at the detailed collections of these four films to date.
HanuMan - January 12, 2024
HanuMan was the first release this Sankranthi season. Directed by Prasanth Varma, HanuMan has grossed Rs 100 crore today. The superhero film was denied single screen due to the presence of other biggies but HanuMan has overshadowed everyone and has made close to Rs 25 crore to date in Telugu states.
In Hindi, the collections have been improving with each passing day. In the US too, HanuMan has grossed just over 3 million dollars which itself is a record for such a low-budget film. Teja Sajja is in high demand post the success of this film and has signed three films to date.
Guntur Kaaram - January 12, 2024
Guntur Kaaram was the biggest release and all eyes were on the Mahesh Babu-Trivikram starrer. Though the film started with negative reviews, the holiday season has ensured solid collections for the film. Guntur Kaaram has grossed Rs 180 crore to date and will touch the coveted Rs 200-crore mark soon.
But that is not enough as the film needs to make a minimum of Rs 125 crore share to be in the safe zone. The collections in the US have dropped considerably and we need to see how much it will make in the days to come. Sreeleela and Meenakshi Chaudhary play female leads in this film, which has music by Thaman.
Siandhav - January 13, 2024
Venkatesh's Saindhav was the next to release and was out with a lot of hype. But sadly, the film did not hold its fort and the occupancy is just about okay. So far, the action drama has made Rs 14 crore gross which is pretty less. With each passing show, the occupancy is going down.
For the film to be in the safe zone, it has to make at least Rs 50 crore share which is highly unlikely. By the looks of it, Saindhav will end as a massive disaster at the box office. Watch this space for more updates on the box office numbers of these biggies.
Naa Saami Ranga - January 14, 2024
The last release of Sankranthi 2024 was Nagarjuna's Naa Saami Ranga. As the film was promoted as the Sankranthi special release, it opened well all over the Telugu states. So far, Naa Saami Ranga has made Rs 13 crore share in just two days which is pretty decent.
As the word of mouth is good, the village drama is seeing good occupancy in the interiors of Telugu states. Overseas, the film is just about okay. Naa Saami Ranga has been sold for nominal prices and looking at the way it is going, it should be in the safe zone.
