Even after more than three decades in the industry, Tabu is showing no signs of slowing down. The prominent actress never shies away from taking on challenging roles that leave a mark on viewers, and test her limits as an actor. Her versatile filmography has also seen her don the khaki more than a few times, essaying some memorable cop characters that push the envelope when it comes to her skills.
Recently, the actress was seen playing a tough as nails cop in Aasmaan Bhardwaj's directorial debut, Kuttey, which saw her share the screen with Arjun Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kumud Mishra, Radhika Madan, and Shardul Bhardwaj. The film made its way onto Netflix on Thursday. Before catching Tabu in guns blazing action in Kuttey, here are some films where Tabu as a cop stole every scene she’s in.
Kohram
This Mehul Kumar directorial saw Amitabh Bachchan star as an ex-colonel who fakes his death and plans to take down a terrorist organisation, while Nana Patekar plays an army major sent to investigate the former. The 1999 film features Tabu as Inspector Kiran Patkar, who falls in love with Patekar’s character. Kohram is available for streaming on MX Player.

This Tamil mystery thriller follows the story of two college girls, Vasu and Radhika, who decide to play a prank by inventing a fake boyfriend, named Ramesh, for Radhika. Tabu stars as ACP Gayatri, a steely police officer who is in charge of the investigation and tries to bring the girls into custody. The Priyadarshan directorial also stars Jyothika, Sharbani Mukherjee and Ishita Arun and can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.

The remake of the hit Malayalam film of the same name, the 2015 film follows Vijay Salgaonkar, a man who is forced to take desperate measures to protect his family after the latter accidentally murder a young man, who happens to be the son of a tough police officer. The Nishikant Kamat directorial, which also stars Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta and Rishab Chadha, can be streamed on Netflix.
Drishyam 2
Drishyam 2 continues the saga of Vijay Salgaonkar, who is still haunted by the traumatic events of the first film, wherein he was forced to cover up the murder of a police officer’s son, committed by his family. Tabu reprises her role as IG Meera Deshmukh, who refuses to let Vijay get away with the murder. The film was directed by Abhishek Pathak and is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
