From Sivakarthikeyan's science fiction comedy Ayalaan to Dhanush’s period action film Captain Miller, this Pongal is ready to serve some of the most enthralling performances of 2024!

Captain Miller

Dhanush is all set to bring an explosive period action drama with the upcoming film Captain Miller. Helmed by Arun Matheswaran, the war drama revolves around rebel Captain Miller (played by Dhanush) who conducts daring heists and assaults for unspecified reasons. The trailer showcases him as a military man who turns into a rebel and is feared by all. The film also has a stellar star cast featuring Kannada superstar and Jailer actor Shivarajkumar, Priyanka Mohan, Nassar and Sundeep Kishan in pivotal roles. With music scored by G V Prakash Kumar, Captain Miller is set to be a great feast this Pongal season!

Ayalaan

Kollywood is getting its alien/science fiction after a very long time! Ayalaan, starring Sivakarthikeyan, is a science fiction film about an alien who is lost on Earth and seeks help from four men from Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, there is a group of scientists who are plotting to capture the alien. The film, which is one of the most-anticipated movies of the year, has used heavy CGI effects to create the alien aka Ayalaan’s character. Interestingly, Chithha fame Siddharth has lent his voice for the alien’ character. The movie’s music is scored by A R Rahman and will be a perfect film to watch this festive weekend!

Mission: Chapter 1

Release date: January 12

Arun Vijay is making a comeback after 2 years for the complete action-packed thriller, alongside Amy Jackson. Helmed by AL Vijay, the film features Nimisha Sajayan, Ali Hassan, Bharath Bopanna and Leo fame Iyal in pivotal roles. The film revolves around a man who is forced to complete a mission to rescue his daughter. Backed by Lyca Productions, the film marks the maiden collaboration between Arun Vijay and A L Vijay.   

Merry Christmas

This exciting thriller, starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, is a bilingual film which was shot in both Hindi and Tamil. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the movie revolves around two people who are faced with unexpected events on Christmas eve. This eagerly awaited film has many mystery elements that will be unveiled this festive weekend at cinemas near you!
