Udhayanidhi Stalin's upcoming film Nenjukku Needhi is all set to hit screens on May 20. The film, directed by Arunraja Kamaraj, is a remake of the 2019 Hindi film, Article 15, a neo-noir crime drama, directed and produced by Anubhav Sinha. A special screening of the film was arranged for the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin recently and the pictures of the CM with the film's cast and crew are doing the rounds on the internet.

In the meantime, actress Lissy took to her social media handle, to share the news that she had watched the film during the special screening as well. She called the film, a powerful subject and wished the entire team. She shared some pictures from the screening and wrote, "Had the previlage to watch a brilliant classic Tamil film "Nenjuku Needhi" with The Honourable Cheif Minister of Tamilnadu Thiru M K Stalin with MLA Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin who is the Hero of the movie along with his family and crew in my Le Magic Lantern preview theatre !! A powerful subject handled brilliantly by director Mr. Arunraja 馃憦馃憦! Best Wishes to the entire team (sic)."

The star cast for the film includes Udhayanidhi Stalin, Aari Arujunan, Tanya Ravichandran and Shivani Rajasekhar in the lead. Music for the film is by Dhibu Ninan Thomas. Cinematography for the film is by Dinesh Krishnan and editing is by Ruben. The title of the Tamil version, Nenjuku Needhi, is named after the autobiography of Udhayanidhi's grandfather and the DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi. This is Arunraja Kamaraj's second directorial after Kanaa starring Aishwarya Rajesh.

The Hindi version has Ayushmann Khurrana playing the protagonist, who uncovers a history of caste oppression in a remote village in Uttar Pradesh. The rest of the star cast includes Nassar, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Sayani Gupta, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Isha Talwar, Sushil Pandey, Veen Harsh and Sumbul Touqeer.
