Like Flowers in Sand Story
The last two episodes of Like Flowers in Sand revolve around the small community rumours that depict marital infidelity as the townsfolk mistakenly think that Baek-do is having an affair with a married woman, Yu-geong (Du-sik). It also features an adorable romantic confession but it is quite short and even skips a kiss. Another major twist that revolves around the tenth episode is that the dog has a connection with a killer or its accomplice, as every night it is unleashed for a hidden motive. One of the key moments is the revelation of Du-sik's identity to childhood friends Jin-su and Seok-hee.
Like Flowers in Sand Review
The ninth and tenth episodes of Like Flowers in Sand diminished the ignited flames of romantic butterflies in the stomachs of fans as it featured only a minute of romantic love confession that Baek-do finally initiates but nothing from Du-sik. Despite being called a sports drama, there is not much sports competitiveness in the scenes except for a minute or half spent on the Ssireum practice of wrestlers but apart from that, no intriguing and heart-pounding championships take place in episodes 9 and 10.
Even the kiss and the awkwardness that made us blush just faded in the last two episodes, which are also the semi-finale ones, as the series is nearly folding into a predictable ending. The only thread that holds the audience's attention is the revelation of Du-sik's identity to her childhood friends and it is fascinating to watch how they will contribute to Baek-do and Du-sik's love story. Another major mysterious angle is that the killer's accomplice is one of the townspeople and it can be anyone, thus implying a complex suspicion on everyone, even Baek-do's family.
