The highly awaited upcoming film Liger is getting audiences all excited. The fans of the star Vijay Deverakonda can’t wait to get a glimpse of their favourite actor on the big screen again. They are eagerly looking for updates of the film. And now, we have some exciting news!

To draw an audience, the producers are taking a particular interest in the film’s item song. As a result, the makers are hunting for the ideal lady to steal the show. Several personalities have reportedly been approached or considered to headline the song, from Samantha Ruth Prabhu to Srinidhi Shetty. Previously, it was rumoured that KGF: Chapter 2 actress Srinidhi Shetty is selected for the song but now, Rashmika Mandanna's name is on the top of the list. According to reports by News18, she is almost certain to perform this song now.

Rumour has it that the producers believe Rashmika will be the best-suited face for the song, owing to Pushpa's success and her pan-India appeal. Vijay Deverakonda and the film's director, Puri Jagannadh have reportedly presented the idea to Rashmika already and it seems the actor has already given them the go-light.

There are also rumours that the film's OTT rights have been sold for a significant fee. Puri Jagannadh's Liger is an upcoming Indian sports action film, written and directed by him. It features Vijay Deverakonda as a kickboxer, along with Ananya Panday, Ronit Roy, and Ramya Krishnan. Boxer Mike Tyson will also appear in the film for an extended cameo, marking his acting debut in Indian cinema. The film also marks Ananya Panday’s Telugu film debut.

Liger will be released in Hindi and Telugu, with dubbed versions in Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam. The film was earlier planned for a release in theatres in September 2021, but was later, pushed back, owing to production difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Liger will now be released in theatres on August 25, 2022.
