Ryan Reynolds, a Canadian actor, producer, and writer popularly known for his versatile performances, appears not only in films but in television series and video games. At first, he started out as a television actor, before featuring on the silver screen. He starred in the movie Deadpool in a titular anti-hero role, which was a commercial success worldwide. Movies like Free Guy, Self/Less, Change-Up, The Green Lantern, The Proposal, and many others gave him popularity. Today, we have a list of his films that are lesser-known but definitely worth watching.

Pokemon: Detective Pikachu

A 2019 family mystery film in collaboration with the Pokemon franchise has Justice Smith in the lead with Ryan Reynold lending his voice for Pikachu. The story is about a 21-year-old Tim Goodman and his pokemon partner Pikachu who set out to solve the mystery of his missing father, detective Harry Goodman. Tim is the only human who can talk or hear Pikachu, making their conversations hilarious. The movie is packed with commendable graphics and is a must-watch for kids.

The Croods

Here is another animation film with a voiceover by Reynolds. The Croods, a 2013 American adventure comedy film produced by Dreamworks Animation, also has Nicholas Cage, Emma Stone and Catherine Keener lending their voices. The plot revolves around a prehistoric family that needs to find a new home as their current habitat is on the brink of extinction. The film has whip-smart comic scenes and striking visuals.

Buried

Reynold’s breathtaking performance in this 2010 psychological thriller is sure to leave the audience spellbound. The storyline depicts an American truck driver who is attacked by Iraqis and gets buried six feet under. Regaining consciousness after an unspecified span of time, he finds himself in a coffin that has a lighter and a cellphone which is almost about to lose battery. Though claustrophobic, in order to survive, he has to reach out for help. If you are a fan of such thrillers, don't miss this one.

Definitely, Maybe

A 2018 American romance drama film, starring alongside Reynolds are the actors Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Elizabeth Banks, Kevin Kline, and Rachel Weisz. Reynolds plays a man on the verge of divorce, who is questioned by his young daughter about his courtship days with her mother. He agrees on the condition that she has to guess who her mother is as he narrates the story of the three women in his life. Definitely, Maybe is a light-hearted romantic comedy that every Reynold fan should watch.

Mississippi Grind

The movie is an American drama released in 2015, starring Ben Mendelsohn as Gerry and Reynolds as Curtis, in the lead. The story follows Gerry, a struggling gambler who meets a young poker player named Curtis. Convinced that Curtis is the key to his better luck, Gerry takes him on a road trip to gamble in New Orleans, to win back all that he has lost. The film gained favorable reviews, although it was a financial flop.
