It's official! Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming film Leo is all set to drop on OTT on November 24. The film will be out on Netflix and will stream in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
Netflix made the official announcement on its social media handle, "The wait is finally over!! We have some Bloody Sweet news for you. Naa Ready! Are you? #Leo is coming to Netflix on 24th Nov in India and 28th Nov Globally in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada & Hindi (sic)."
Leo features Thalapathy in a dual role
Thalapathy Vijay will be seen in a dual role in the film. One of the characters, Parthiban, who runs a cafe in Kashmir, gets attention from a drug cartel who claim that he was part of the gang. The other being Leo Das, the titular character. How Parthi fends off the gang forms the film's plot.
The film marks the comeback of Trisha and Vijay after a long span of 14 years. The reunion of the duo, who worked in films like Ghilli, Thirupaachi, Aadhi and Kuruvi, piqued the excitement among fans.
An ensemble star cast
The star cast comprised Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Sandy Master, Mathew Thomas and Mansoor Ali Khan to name a few. The story of the film was penned by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Deeraj Vaidy and Rathna Kumar. Leo is said to be inspired by A History of Violence (2005), an adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name.
Technical crew
Music is by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa and editing by Philomin Raj. The film is bankrolled by Seven Screen Studio and The Route.
While the digital rights of the film have been bagged by Netflix, the satellite rights have been acquired by Sun TV. The buzz is that the film will make its television premiere on the occasion of Pongal next year.
