Thalapathy Vijay's Leo is finally here and it has opened to packed houses. The film has had a record opening with almost every movie hall in the state screening Leo. However, the film, which was billed as the most hyped film of the year, received mixed reviews on release.
Film to drop on Netflix in November
The digital rights of the film have been bagged for a whopping amount by Netflix, who had earlier announced as the film's OTT partner. The film is expected to drop on the platform in the last week of November. To screen the Hindi version of the film in multiplexes, the OTT premiere has to happen 8 weeks after the release. But since the deal was signed almost a year ago, the team couldn't make the respective changes according to the new rules.
Satellite rights by Sun TV
Meanwhile we hear that the satellite rights of the film have been bagged by Kalanithi Maran's Sun TV. The satellite rights have been acquired for a whopping amount.
Star cast and crew
Leo marks the comeback of the iconic hit pair of the 2000s, Vijay and Trisha. The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Mansoor Ali Khan, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Sanday Master, Mathew Thomas to name a few. The film's story was penned by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Deeraj Vaidy and Rathna Kumar. Music is by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa and editing by Philomin Raj. The film is bankrolled by Seven Screen Studio and The Route.
Lokesh pens a heartfelt letter
It is customary of the director to drop a note for his fans ahead of his film's release. And this time around, his request was to not share any spoilers. On working with Vijay for the second time, he wrote, "I want to thank Thalapathy Vijay na for giving his everything to bring my vision forward. I will always respect you for the immense dedication you've shown us all (sic)."
