Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo, starring Vijay in the lead, is currently the most awaited project in Kollywood. The gangster drama, which is said to be an adaptation of A History of Violence, will hit the screens on October 19 in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.

The film marks the second collaboration between the actor-filmmaker duo, and fans are eager to know if the movie is connected with the filmmaker's previous outing Vikram. There is speculation that the project is part of the universe he had created with the Kamal Haasan-starrer a year ago.

Ever since Suriya's cameo in Vikram turned out to be hugely popular, fans of the actor are pinning hopes on the star joining hands with Lokesh for a spin-off. The director is busy with a few films in his kitty and their collaboration was considered to be unlikely to happen soon.

He has Kaithi 2 and Vikram 3 coming up next in 2024 and 2025, if everything goes well. However, Lokesh surprised movie buffs by revealing something which left them astonished. While talking at an award event recently, he spilled the beans on teaming up with the Jai Bhim star.

Lokesh revealed that he has plans to direct Suriya for a full-length movie amid rumours of the latter appearing in a cameo in Leo are doing the rounds. Fans are wondering what the filmmaker has in his mind as he has a few projects already committed.

If Leo garners positive response, many records will be shattered and the director will be considered as the numero uno filmmaker of Kollywood. Meanwhile, cinephiles are hopeful of him coming up with several surprises in the Vijay-starrer which wrapped up a crucial schedule in Kashmir recently.
