Leo: Chennai theatre suffers damage as overwhelmed fans welcome the Vijay-starrer's trailer

The trailer of Leo was released a couple of hours ago and the action-packed promo is creating new records on YouTube. It garnered 10M views in no time and received a record number of likes, too, for any Indian film in a short period of time.

Vijay's rugged avatar, slick cuts by editor Philomin Raj and impressive visuals from Manoj Paramahamsa have been receiving positive responses while a few VFX shots received flak from cinephiles. The promo video hasn't left any hint regarding the movie's connection with director Lokesh's earlier works Vikram and Kaithi.

Chennai theatre suffers damage as excited fans watch Leo's trailer

A couple of exhibitors in Chennai announced that they will be screening the movie's trailer in their halls. Rohini theatre, one of the popular movie halls in the city, was overcrowded a couple of hours before the trailer was unveiled at 6.30 pm.

Fans damaged the seats inside the hall out of excitement and videos and stills of the same are doing the rounds on social media. One fan is saying that he did this out of frustration over the cancellation of the film's audio launch while a few others are seen creating a ruckus inside the hall.     

Mixed response to the miscreants' acts

Though the unruly behaviour of the people inside the hall has been facing severe criticism, there are those who opine that the theatre owners deserve it for the unreasonable prices for which they sell FDFS tickets.

Exhibitors in Tamil Nadu are yet to obtain permission to screen early morning shows in the state. As of now, the shows are allowed to begin only at 9 am. Though a few producers have requested the state government to consider granting permission to screen morning shows, they are yet to hear from the latter.
