Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt is all set to make his debut in Tamil with Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo. The actor will play a crucial character in the film. In a recent interaction, Sanjay Dutt revealed that his role was a fantastic one. "In all the films that I am doing, I have got excellent characters. As for Leo, it's a fantastic role. Lokesh is like a son to me. I share a fantastic relationship with Lokesh, Vijay sir and the whole team."
During Vijay's birthday (June 22), Sanjay Dutt wished Thalapathy with a BTS picture from the set. He wrote on his social media handle, "Wishing a very happy birthday to brother @actorvijay! Looking forward to Leo's release, wishing you a year filled with success and happiness (sic)!"
There has been a buzz that Sanjay Dutt is likely to play Vijay's father in the film, however, there has been no confirmation of the same. If it's true, the onscreen father-son duo might play powerful gangsters. Speculations are also rife that Sanjay Dutt could be the prime antagonist in the film. The team has been quite tight-lipped about the plot.
Sanjay Dutt joined the sets of Leo during the Kashmir schedule and has been part of the Chennai schedule as well. The film's makers had dropped a picture thanking the Bollywood star. They wrote, "Thank you @duttsanjay sir, you’ve been such a sweet & down to earth person. Our entire team enjoyed seeing your performance so close by, you rocked as usual sir. Eagerly waiting to see you back on the sets in the Chennai schedule (sic)."
The film has an ensemble star cast which includes Trisha, Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand, Mansoor Ali Khan, Gautham Menon, Mathew Thomas, Mysskin, Sandy Master, Babu Antony, Manobala, George Maryan, to name a few.
Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa, editing by Philomin Raj. The film is bankrolled by Seven Screen Studio and The Route. Leo is gearing up for October release this year and will mark Thalapathy's second release after Varisu.
