"I am happy that the producer trusted my ability to pull off a prestigious project like this. No film can be made without the support of technicians and this holds truer in the case of a periodic film. It's important to document history on-screen accurately. I am thrilled that I'll be re-introducing this changemaker called Potti Sriramulu to this generation. I feel blessed," said director Kanmani, who also helmed the film Naa Oopiri in the past.

The producer Kuchipudi Rajendra Prasad felt that his association with Kanmani during his stay in Chennai gave him the confidence to rope him in for the biopic. "I was also involved in the production of Naa Oopiri. I thank all the guests who accepted our request and attended the project announcement event. More details about the cast and crew will be revealed shortly," he added. Venigalla Rambabu is also writing the dialogues for the film which has cinematography by Mallikarjun Naragani. KL Praveen is on board as an editor.
