Many people are looking forward to Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. The filmmaker has been tight-lipped regarding the main characters until now. Leaked photographs exclusively obtained by ZoomTV recently revealed the first look at Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, respectively.
On Saturday, leaked photos from the Ramayana sets showed Ranbir in his traditional garb as Lord Ram, the crown prince of Ayodhya, and Sai Pallavi in her princess role as Sita. On their social media accounts, ZoomTV shared photos and videos from the historical epic's sets, which featured Ranbir and Sai. The mythological drama pairs actors opposite each other for the first time.
According to multiple entertainment websites, Ranbir is training hard for his role as Lord Ram by following a vegetarian diet. Ranbir, along with Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri, Saurabh Sachdeva, Shakti Kapoor, and others, made his last appearance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal.
Recently, online leaks of images from the Ramayana set went viral. While Lara Dutta was wearing the Kaikeyi garb, Arun Govil took on the role of King Dashrath. Speculation has it that Vijay Sethupathi Vibhishana, Bobby Deol as Kumbhkaran, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman will all be playing supporting roles. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding this.
If you're unfamiliar, Sage Valmiki's work serves as the inspiration for the epic Ramayana. Om Raut had already tried the movie version with Adipurush (2023), but it was likewise a flop. Then came Nitesh. Adipurush received a lacklustre box office reception and faced criticism for its shoddy CGI and its distortion of mythological figures. Playing the key parts were Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan.
It is also being reported that Nitesh is turning his Ramayana into a trilogy, and the first instalment is likely to hit the big screen in 2025.
