This week (July 29 to August 4) is packed with many releases in Tamil, ranging from OTT titles to films that will be hitting the theatres. Here is a compilation on what you can watch this week.
Brinda is a Telugu upcoming web series starring actor Trisha in the lead role. The series marks the actor's debut in the OTT space. Trisha plays the role of a cop in the series, directed by Surya Manoj Vangala. Apart from Trisha, the series also stars Indrajith Sukumaran, Jaya Prakash, Aamani, Ravindra Vijay, Anand Sami, Rakendu Mouli and others.
Uppu Puli Kaaram is an ongoing Tamil web series that revolves around an old couple running a mess and living with their one son and three daughters. The series is about how each family member navigates through their lives while dealing with problems of their own. The streaming platform releases four episodes every Friday.
This documentary series details the life of ace Telugu filmmaker SS Rajamouli, who has proven to be a hit storyteller with his films like RRR and Baahubali earning both worldwide recognition and box office collections. The biographical documentary will also feature known figures including James Cameron, Joe Russo, and Karan Johar sharing insightful perspectives, and actors Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Ram Charan speaking about their associations with the filmmaker.
The epic science action film Dune: Part Two is helmed by Denis Villeneuve. It stars actors Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem, along with new cast members Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Léa Seydoux. The Hollywood film will be available in various Indian languages and English.
Boat is an upcoming Tamil film headlined by actor-comedian Yogi Babu. The film is directed by Chimbudevan and is based on a true story. Set during the pre-Independence era, the film revolves around a group of passengers who are stranded in the middle of sea on a boat. However, when their survival is in question, the true colours come out. Actors Gouri Kishan, MS Bhaskar, Chinni Jayanth, Madhumitha, Sha Ra, Chaaams, and others appear in pivotal roles.
Vijay Antony is set to headline Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan, which is directed by Vijay Milton. Sathyaraj, Megha Akash, Daali Dhananjaya, Murali Sharma, Saranya Ponvannan, Pruthvi Ambaar, Thalaivasal Vijay and many others are also part of the cast. The film is touted to be an action thriller.
