We are in the last week of 2024, and as we wrap up this year on a silent note, January is set to be happening with releases lined up for Pongal. However, the first week will go silent with a few releases on OTT and in theatres. Here are some of the Tamil titles that you can watch on OTT and theatres in the coming days. Check out:
Jolly O Gymkhana is directed by Sakthi Chidambaram. The crime comedy film stars Prabhu Deva, Madonna Sebastian, Abhirami, Yogi Babu, Yashika Anand, Redin Kingsley, John Vijay, Sai Dheena, MS Bhaskar, Robo Shankar, and Aadukalam Naren. In the film, Prabhudheva plays a corpse who ends up in the hands of four women who are running an eatery joint.
Uppu Puli Kaaram is Tamil web series, which revolves around an elderly couple who run an eatery and live with their four grown-up children. However, their lives take a turn when the father’s son from another mother comes to live with the family, leading to drama and confusion. With the couple having their own secret about their new son, and the latter being a famous actor, the series is a family drama focusing on the life of each family member, the children’s love lives, and how their careers and ambitions cross paths. The series is reaching its finale, with the last four episodes set to premiere.
All We Imagine As Light, the much-acclaimed Indian film which bagged international awards, and nominations, will make its OTT debut soon. Directed by Payal Kapadia, the film stars Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam and Hridhu Haroon. The film revolves around two Malayalee nurses who live in Mumbai, as the feature explores the themes of sisterhood, capitalism, idea of home, loneliness and migration.
The Tamil film industry's first release in 2025 will be Bioscope. Starring Sankagiri Rajkumar, with Sathyaraj and Cheran in cameo roles, it is helmed by Sankagiri Rajkumar. The film revolves around a group of village people who attempt to make a film, with their rudimentary knowledge. Bioscope will feature fresh faces. Aha Tamil has bagged the streaming rights.
