In this week (August 12 to August 18), Tamil cinema will be witnessing the releases of a mix of OTT content and theatricals. Here is a list of releases you will be able to catch in the following week to come.

Thangalaan – Theatres (August 15)

Directed by Pa Ranjith, Thangalaan is a period action drama starring Vikram in the lead role. The film revolves around a group of tribals employed by a British officer to find gold in KGF. However, in turn they are possessed and tortured by a sorceress. Thangalaan also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy and others.

Demonte Colony 2 – Theatres (August 15)

Demonte Colony 2 is a sequel to the film Demonte Colony and stars actor Arulnithi in the lead role. The horror thriller is directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu and also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar. The film follows the story of the first part revolving around a group of people and a cursed necklace they take from a haunted bungalow.

Raghu Thatha – Theatres (August 15)

Directed by Suman Kumar in his maiden directorial, Raghu Thatha is headlined by actor Keerthy Suresh. MS Bhaskar, Ravindra Vijay, Devadarshni, Jayakumar, Rajeev Ravindranathan, Anandsami, Rajesh Balachandran, and others are part of the cast. Keerthy Suresh plays a fiercely feminist woman who is shown to be a police cadet and stands up for herself.

My Perfectt Husband – Disney+ Hotstar (August 16)

My Perfectt Husband is an upcoming web series starring Sathyaraj in the lead role. The cast of My Perfectt Husband includes actors Rekha, Seetha, Varsha Bollamma, Rakshan, Livingston, Ajeedh Khalique, Krithika Manohar, Raghavi and Reshma Pasupalty among others. The light-hearted romantic comedy drama is directed by Thamira.

Vera Maari Office season 2 – Aha Tamil (August 15)

The second season of Aha's web series Vera Maari Office takes a horror comedy turn. The series is set against the backdrop of an office, with various employees facing daily issues and the drama that ensues. RJ Vijay, Janani Ashokkumar, VJ Pappu, Soundariya Nanjundan, Raveena Daha, Jaiseelan, Vikkals Vikram, and others are part of the cast. The series is directed by Jaswin J. Shivakanth has served as the creator and producer of the series.

Manorathangal – ZEE5 (August 15)

The anthology which is conceived in Malayalam, stars actors Mammootty, Mohanlal, Biju Menon, Fahadh Faasil, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and others. Manorathangal will consists of nine segments, which are helmed by directors Priyadarshan, Ranjith Abhayam, Santhosh Sivan, Shyamaprasad, Jayaraj, Aswathy, Rathesh Ambat, and Mahesh Narayanan. It is based on the renowned author M T Vasudevan Nair's works.

Uppu Puli Kaaram – Disney+ Hotstar (ongoing)

Uppu Puli Kaaram is an ongoing web series which revolves around an elderly couple who run an eatery and live with their three daughters and a son. The show focusses on their daily lives as each of them have their own issues to tackle with, from a budding romance to workplace harassment. In between this, the elderly couple also have a secret of their own which is related to a famous actor. Four episodes are released every week.
