Malayalam cinema has grabbed the spotlight and never let go in 2024. The quality of all the new and latest movies from the film industry, be it Manjummel Boys, Aavesham or Ullozhukku, has got people from across the country checking for new Malayalam OTT release movies soon after their theatrical releases to rewatch or stream. Be it films of the younger stars such as Fahadh Faasil, Dulquer Salmaan, Tovino Thomas, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Anna Ben and Prithviraj Sukumaran or veteran superstars such as Mohanlal and Mammootty, Malayalam movies that find their way to OTTs are now watched by not just Mollywood fans. In November too, several much-anticipated movies such as Level Cross, Ajayante Randam Moshanam and Gumasthan have released on major OTT platforms.

This social drama, directed by Lijin Jose and scripted by Archana Vasudev, follows the lives of five women and how they are interconnected. Parvathy Thiruvothu, Ramya Nambeesan, Lijomol Jose, Urvashi and Aishwarya Rajesh play the protagonists in the movie, which also marks the late actor-director Prathap Pothen's last film.

A feud for land between a retired KSEB engineer and a rice-mill owner is the talk of the town, and a verdict of an ongoing case almost becomes a part of their identity. The satire, based on S Hareesh's Rathri Kaaval, is narrated in an non-linear manner, showcasing instances of how the rivalry between the two men evolved over the decades.
