While 2024 was widely heralded as the golden year for Malayalam cinema, 2025 promises to be even better. The film industry followed some of its best movies in 2024, including Manjummel Boys, Aavesham or Kishkindha Kaandam, with brilliant films like Identity and Rekhachithram in the first week of January 2025 itself, and fans have been waiting for the latest Malayalam OTT releases every week.
It's little wonder then that films of younger Malayalam stars such as Fahadh Faasil, Dulquer Salmaan, Tovino Thomas, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Anna Ben and Prithviraj Sukumaran or even veteran superstars such as Mohanlal and Mammootty, that find their way to OTTs, are now watched by not just Mollywood fans. In March 2025 too, several much-anticipated movies such as Asif Ali's Rekhachithram, Kunchacko Boban's Officer On Duty and Vineeth Sreenivasan's Oru Jaathi Jathakam can be streamed on major OTT platforms.

After a toddy shop owner is found hanging at the premises, a police officer is tasked with questioning a dozen suspects to figure out it was a suicide or a murder. Things turn tricky when the investigation also throws up a lead connecting the cop's past.

After believing his actions led to the death of a person, Suku checks into a mental hospital to prove that he is insane and to get out of trouble if he gets caught by the cops. Meanwhile, Shiba tries to run away from home every chance she gets. When the duo finally meet, all hell breaks loose.

Bus conductor Sajeevan is stuck in his marriage to Bijimol, whom he had believed was the one for him. How he becomes a helpless puppet to his controlling wife and tough mother-in-law form the plot of the film, directed by Boban Samuel.

After resuming charge post a demotion, CI Harishankar soon gets entangled in a fake jewellery case, which leads him to a drug-peddling gang. But as soon he realises that the case is tied to his past trauma, he has to battle his professional and personal demons, while also ensuring that the dangerous perpetrators don't kill anymore in their list.

Gold dealer Ajesh lends 25 sovereigns under the promise that he would take all the money gifted to the bride for the wedding. But when family falls short and the bride leaves the house without returning the gold, Ajesh travels to a notorious island village and has to take on her husband Mariyano, a criminal.

This prompts a tainted police officer to trace her whereabouts and ascertain what transpired during the fateful day, in director Jofin T Chacko's mystery thriller.

Jayesh, a 37-year-old Chennai-based Malayali, has trouble finding a prospective bride, mainly because of his outdated criteria and his chauvinist nature. Things get further complicated when he is misjudged by those around him. Can he navigate through the challenges and come out a transformed man? The comedy is directed by M Mohanan.

Cab driver Joekuttan is forced to choose between remaining silent or doing what's right when he becomes witness to the murder of a police officer. Things, however, get out of hand when his sister's life comes under threat, making him play a dangerous game that will have a massive impact on the police force.
