While 2024 was widely heralded as the golden year for Malayalam cinema, 2025 promises to be even better. The film industry followed some of its best movies in 2024 including Manjummel Boys, Aavesham or Kishkindha Kaandam, with brilliant films like Identity and Rekhachithram in the first week of January 2025 itself, and fans have been waiting for the latest Malayalam OTT releases every week.
It's little wonder then that film of younger Malayalam stars such as Fahadh Faasil, Dulquer Salmaan, Tovino Thomas, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Anna Ben and Prithviraj Sukumaran or even veteran superstars such as Mohanlal and Mammootty, Malayalam movies that find their way to OTTs are now watched by not just Mollywood fans. I Am Kathalan
Written by actor Sajin Cherukayil, Premalu director Girish AD's latest film revolves around a brilliant but indolent youth, who takes it up on himself to get back at the humiliation he has suffered from the hands of his ex-girlfriend's father by hacking his bank's security system. But his series of actions pits him against an ethical hacker, and things take a serious turn when the cops also get involved.

After accidentally killing an arms dealer's son, two youngsters flee to seek help of a superstar, who is at a rifle club in Wayanad to learn hunting for his next movie. Panchavalsara Padhathi
Helmed by Premlal and written by Sajeev Pazhoor, this rural satire revolves around a bunch of villagers who happen to see a folk legend Kalambasura appear. The series of incidents that happen post his appearance and the impact it has on the lives of everyone, including the protagonist, Sanoj, form the plot of the film.
