It’s the week before Pushpa 2: The Rule, one of the most anticipated pan-Indian films of the year, so, naturally, there aren’t any big-ticket titles making their way to the box office. Like the last weekend, the upcoming one will also have a bunch of small-time Kannada films with limited releases. On OTT, though, audiences have much to cheer, what with one of the most successful Kannada rom-coms of recent times and a Telugu scam thriller set to be available to stream.

Here's a look at the Kannada original and dubbed films releasing in theatres and on OTT in the week of November 25 to December 1

Jalandhara

Director-writer Vishnu Prasanna’s crime thriller revolves around a suspended police officer who investigates a crime in Madhuvathi, a village by the river Cauvery. As he delves deeper, he uncovers twists and turns that are tied to his past. Will he find the real culprit or face the unknown? The film stars Pramod Shetty, Rushika Raj, Raaghu Ramanakoppa, Lokesh Gowda, and Arohita Gowda, among others.

Naa Ninna Bidalare

A horror-thriller inspired by the classic film of the same name is releasing this week. Directed by Naveen GS, the film is a modern-day interpretation of the Anant Nag starrer and has Ambali Bharathi leading the cast, along with KS Sridhar, Mahantesh, Srinivasa Prabhu, Sirande Raghu, Panchi, etc.

Megha

Kiran Raj and Kaajal Kunder headline the romantic drama Megha, which is centered on the subject of friendship and love. The film, according to director Charan, is a family entertainer, a genre that’s been neglected for a while in Kannada cinema. Joining Kiran and Kaajal on the cast are Rajesh Nataranga, Nagendra Sha, Giri Shivanna, Hamsa Pratap, etc.

Luck

Director Harish Foxy’s film follows Hari (Manjunath KV) after he finds himself buried alive, after giving a stranger a lift. Will he survive this nightmare? The trailer bears significant resemblance to the 2010 Ryan Reynold’s survival thriller Buried. Luck also stars Kaddipudi Chandru, Padmaja Rao, Ravi Mandya, and Vinod Anand, among others.

Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi

Golden Star Ganesh’s maiden collaboration with Dandupalya maker Srinivasa Raju, the romantic comedy Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi is one of the big hits of the year, having recently completed a 100-day box office journey. The film, which pairs Ganesh with Malavika Nair, is about a husband falling in love with his wife yet again after he loses all memory of her.

Lucky Bashkar

Dulquer Salmaan is in the title role of the Venky Atluri period crime drama, in which the actor plays a bank employee, whose attempts to make a quick buck on a risky investment scheme draw him into the world of money laundering. The Telugu original film, which was released during Deepavali, has had a good box office run. It will stream with Kannada audio.
