Lalitham Sundaram song Mekhajalakam paints the picture of a happy family in Manju Warrier’s Hotstar release

While the first few posters of Manju Warrier and Biju Menon’s feel-good entertainer Lalitham Sundaram revealed a chaotic family, the latest track – Mekhajalakam – from the movie presented them in a more joyous mood.

The song from Madhu Wariar’s directorial debut , was released on March 4, and painted a happy picture of the family comprising of characters essayed by Biju, Manju, Saiju Kurup, Deepti Sati, Anu Mohan and Raghunath Paleri enjoying a day out with picnic and other adventure activities.

The film, which will also mark both Manju and Biju’s first direct-to-OTT release, is scheduled to drop on Disney+ Hotstar this month. Manju has also produced the film directed by brother and actor Madhu.

On opting for a digital release of the movie, Madhu had earlier told OTTplay that the situation in theatres have been uncertain and that from the trend of the movies such as Kurup and Jan.E.Man that did find success during the pandemic, it’s youth audience that drove the collections.

The makers had taken the call to release the film on OTTs by the end of 2021. From March 2022, however, the Kerala government has permitted theatres to operate at 100% capacity.

Further on the movie, Madhu said that the film is a feel-good family entertainer that can be enjoyed by people of all age groups. Disney+ Hotstar’s previous Malayalam releases too have been from the same genre. They had picked up Nivin Pauly’s Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham, Dileep’s Kesu Ee Veedinte Naadhan and Prithviraj Sukumaran-Mohanlal duo’s Bro Daddy .

Meanwhile, Manju, who is currently shooting for Aamir Pallikal’s Ayisha in Dubai , is set to return later this week to begin promotions for Lalitham Sundaram. The actress has also completed shooting for Vellarikapattanam, co-starring Soubin Shahir, and Jayasurya’s Meri Awaz Suno.
