Lal Salaam is all set to drop in theatres on the occasion of Pongal. The project marks the comeback of Aishwarya Rajinikanth after a decade. Her last outing was Vai Raja Vai (2013), which had Gautham Karthik and Priya Anand in the lead. She made her debut as a documentary filmmaker with Cinema Veeran (2017).
Vishnu Vishal back in a sports drama
Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth are said to be playing cricketers in the film. Interestingly, the duo are avid cricketers in real life, too, and are part of the Celebrity Cricket League as well.
Theatrical rights sold
Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies has bagged the film's theatrical rights. Lal Salaam will take on Sivakarthikeyan's long-delayed sci-fi film, Ayalaan. It is to be noted that Sivakarthikeyan's Maaveran had advanced the film's release date after the announcement of Jailer to avoid a box office clash with the Superstar. But considering Rajinikanth only plays a cameo in the film, Ayalaan is set to release as expected.
