Lakshmi, Madhoo, Santhy Balachandran join hands for Amazon Prime series Sweet Kaaram Coffee

The OTT giant Amazon Prime Video has now announced 41 upcoming projects in different languages. Sweet Kaaram Coffee, the fun-filled series directed by Bejoy Nambiar, Krishna Marimuthu and Swathi Raghuraaman, is one among them. Produced by Lion Tooth Studios, it has been written jointly by Reshma Ghatala, Swathi Raghuraaman, Krishnaswamy Ramkumar and Vinithra Madhavan Menon.

It stars veteran actress Lakshmi, Madhoo and Santhy Balachandran in lead roles. The story of the series revolves around three women who belong to different generations taking an exciting road trip to create some beautiful memories.

Sweet Kaaram Coffee marks the OTT debut of Lakshmi who has acted in more than 100 films in different languages across south and Bollywood. For Madhoo, it is her second stint with OTT after the Bollywood film Nail Polish which dropped on Zee5 last year.

Santhy Balachandran, who was last seen in the Mollywood movie Aaha, is making her Tamil debut with the series. The release date of Sweet Kaaram Coffee is expected to be announced soon.

Madhoo was last seen in the multilingual movie Thalaivi in the role of Janaki Ramachandran. Lakshmi, on the other hand, was last seen in Tamil in Moone Moonu Varthai. Sweet Kaaram Coffee is one of the five series which has been announced by Amazon Prime earlier today in a grand event which was held in Mumbai.  

Vadhandhi, Suzhal, The Village and Modern Love Chennai are the other four projects which will be dropping on the OTT platform. Arun Matheswaran's Saani Kaayidham, starring acclaimed filmmaker Selvaraghavan and Keerthy Suresh in lead roles, is the next project to release on Amazon Prime Video. The revenge tale which marks the director's sophomore project will drop on May 6. It also marks Selva's acting debut.
