The second season of Wednesday will feature a visit by Lady Gaga, according to sources that verified the news to Variety. Cast members are keeping mum about the singer-actor's involvement, but insiders believe she'll make a brief appearance in the second season of the smash Netflix series, which is now shooting in Ireland. According to sources, the production team had hoped to cast Gaga in a more prominent role during Season 2, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
Gaga, who has become famous for her innovative music career, will be making her acting debut with this part. Not long ago, she co-starred with Joaquin Phoenix in the Joker: Folie à Deux film. She had a best actor Oscar nomination for her role in A Star Is Born, which she shared with Bradley Cooper. Her contributions to A Star Is Born and Top Gun: Maverick's Hold My Hand have earned her three nominations for best original song and one victory. House of Gucci and American Horror Story (in various seasons) are among Gaga's other acting credits.
After a dance scene from Wednesday Episode 4 went viral on TikTok, remixed to Gaga's Bloody Mary, star Jenna Ortega told Variety earlier that she is confident Netflix would love to feature Gaga in the upcoming season of the show.
The second season of the hit series will see Ortega returning as Wednesday Addams, with Luis Guzmán, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Luis Zeta-Jones, and Catherine Zeta-Jones promoted to series regulars.
Ordonez portrays Pugsley, Guzmán plays Gomez, and Zeta-Jones plays Morticia. Fred Armisen and Jamie McShane will be appearing as special guests, and returning cast members include Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, and Georgie Farmer. Noah Taylor, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Steve Buscemi, and Billie Piper are among the other new series regulars. Guests on the show include Thandiwe Newton, Christopher Lloyd, and Haley Joel Osment, among others.
Wednesday was an immediate smash when it premiered on Netflix in November 2022. It won four Emmys out of 12 nominations and is the most-watched English-language show the streaming service has ever produced. The 2023 Hollywood writers' and actors' strikes slowed production on Season 2.
