Kiran Rao is back with her latest directorial, JioCinema’s comedy drama film Laapataa Ladies - featuring Sparsh Srivastava, Ravi Kishan and Nitanshi Goel in lead roles. An Aamir Khan Productions film, the plot revolves around two brides, who go missing from a train, and the investigation that follows to solve the mystery.

The case of two missing brides

Released recently, the teaser of Laapataa Ladies starts with Deepak Kumar (Sparsh) travelling back home after marriage. Unfortunately, his new bride goes missing midway during the train journey. He lodges a complaint with a local cop (Ravi), who is shocked upon hearing the news. In a parallel story, another groom lodges a complaint at a different police station about his bride, who goes missing from the same train. What looks like a social satire, the story focusses on identifying and finding the two missing brides.

Release date announced

Sharing the trailer on social media, JioCinema captioned the post, “Tarikh pata chali hai, Unka pata bhi jald hi lag jayega! #Laapataaladies 5 January 2024 se aapko nazdiki cinema gharon mein”.
