Mohanlal is set to team up with Operation Java director Tharun Moorthy for his next project. The movie, which marks the superstar’s 360th outing in the film industry, has been tentatively titled L360. The untitled project, which is bankrolled by M Renjith, was officially launched a couple of days ago. Interestingly, the new updates on Mohanlal’s character and the plot of the Tharun Moorthy directorial have now left cine-goers wondering if the duo is planning to revive the much-delayed film, Benz Vasu.
Mohanlal’s L360 is NOT Benz Vasu, confirms Tharun Moorthy
Reportedly, Mohanlal is finally set to shed his larger-than-life image after a long gap for the Tharun Moorthy directorial, which is set in a small town. Interestingly, the superstar is playing the role of a taxi driver in the untitled film, which will be primarily filmed in Ranni, Pathanamthitta. Interestingly, the new updates have led cine-goers to believe that the project might be a revived version of Mohanlal’s long-delayed movie Benz Vasu, which was also supposed to feature the veteran actor as a taxi driver.
However, director Tharun Moorthi has now officially confirmed that L360 is not a revamped version of Benz Vasu. In a recent chat with OTTplay, the filmmaker stated that the upcoming Mohanlal starrer revolves around a different subject. However, he refrained from divulging more details about the plot and Mohanlal’s character in the untitled film.

For the uninitiated, KR Sunil, who penned Benz Vasu, is now scripting L360 along with director Tharun Moorthi. The long-delayed Mohanlal starrer reportedly revolved around a taxi driver and his deep attachment to his old Ambassador car. The movie was originally supposed to be helmed by G Prajith, the filmmaker who made his directorial debut with the 2017 film Oru Vadakkan Selfie. However, the project was put on the back burner due to Mohanlal’s busy schedule and was later delayed indefinitely.

As per the recent updates, Mohanlal and Tharun Moorthy’s film is set to start rolling by mid-April 2024. In that case, the highly anticipated movie has all the chance to hit the big screens by the final quarter of this year. The makers are yet to finalize the female lead, the rest of the star cast, and the technical crew of the yet-to-be-titled project. The official title of L360, along with the first look, is expected to be revealed very soon.
