L2 Empuraan - Prithviraj Sukumaran shells out major ‘Gotham’ vibes in the new location pics

L2 Empuraan, the second installment in the Lucifer franchise, is one of the most awaited upcoming projects of Malayalam cinema. The movie marks the third collaboration of actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran and superstar Mohanlal. The L2 Empuraan team is now busy with the third schedule filming of the project in San Francisco, USA. Recently, director Prithviraj Sukumaran took to his official Instagram handle and shared a couple of location stills, in which he shelled out major ‘Gotham’ vibes.

The actor-filmmaker who is currently shooting of his ambitious project at the famous Silvercup Studios of San Francisco, dropped two location stills with an interesting caption. Prithviraj Sukumaran first shared the picture of a bridge in his story. However, it is the director’s caption for the next picture, that caught our eye. “Am I the only one getting GOTHAM vibes? (a bat emoji)” wrote Prithviraj, who shared the picture of the Silvercup Studios’ well-lit, red-coloured name board.

Well, the L2 Empuraan director’s new post has left the cine-goers, who have been eagerly waiting for the second installment in the Lucifer franchise, curious. Interestingly, some of them are now believing that Prithviraj Sukumaran was dropping hints on the plot of the Mohanlal-starrer, with his post. The others, however, think that the multi-faceted talent was just sharing his thoughts with his followers. Well, we will have to wait longer, to see what Prithviraj is cooking.

L2 Empuraan – Here's what we know

As reported earlier, Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran are reprising their celebrated characters Stephen Nedumpally aka Khureshi Ab’Ram and Zayed Masood, in L2 Empuraan. Indrajith Sukumaran and Tovino Thomas, on the other hand, are returning to the franchise to play the roles of journalist Govardhan and young politician Jathin Ramdas, respectively. Earlier, writer Murali Gopy confirmed that Empuraan will serve as both a sequel and prequel to Lucifer.

After wrapping up the USA schedule, Prithviraj Sukumaran will take a break from the shoot for the promotions of his survival drama, Aadujeevitham. Later, the actor-director will kickstart the third schedule shooting of the project in Chennai. Later, the team will once again travel abroad for another brief schedule, before kickstarting the film’s final schedule in Kerala. If things go as planned, the entire filming will be wrapped up by mid-2024.
