L2 Empuraan, the highly anticipated second installment in the Lucifer franchise started rolling in October 2023. Director Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team are currently busy with the shooting of the Mohanlal starrer, in Gujarat. The much-awaited project, scripted by Murali Gopy, is gearing up for a grand theatrical release in 2025. Recently, Prithviraj took to his official social media handles and dropped a still from the L2 Empuraan location, revealing a struggle faced by the team.

The actor-filmmaker, who is busy filming his third directorial venture L2 Empuraan in Gujarat, recently took to his official Instagram handle and shared a picture of a heavily clouded sky, with a rainbow. “Dear weather Gods... I really need a hand in getting this done! #L2E #EMPURAAN,” wrote Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is evidently worried about the shooting getting stopped due to the weather conditions, on his post. The multi-faceted talent’s social media post is now going viral on social media.
L2 Empuraan’s next schedule in Abu Dhabi
If the recent updates are to be believed Prithviraj Sukumaran and the team are planning to wrap up the elaborate Gujarat schedule of L2 Empuraan, by the beginning of August. After a short break, the actor-filmmaker will join the first schedule filming of his upcoming pan-Indian film, Salaar 2, along with Telugu superstar Prabhas. Later, Prithviraj is expected to resume the next foreign schedule of the Mohanlal starrer, in Abu Dhabi. Along with the leading man, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Tovino Thomas are also expected to be a part of the upcoming schedule of the film.
The entire filming of L2 Empuraan is expected to wrapped up by the end of September 2024. In that case, director Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team might kickstart the post-production works of the highly anticipated Mohanlal starrer, in October. The makers are expected to drop a major update on the project, most probably a new poster or a special glimpse video, during the upcoming Onam season. L2E, produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions, will hit the theatres by the first quarter of 2025.
