L2 Empuraan, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2019-released blockbuster Lucifer, is currently under production. The much-awaited movie marks the third onscreen collaboration of superstar Mohanlal, and actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran. The action-packed entertainer, which went on floors in October 2023, is expected to have multiple shooting schedules across the year in various foreign countries, and finally in Kerala.
Meanwhile, director Prithviraj, who is currently in the UK for the first foreign schedule of his ambitious project, took to his official social media handles and dropped a major update.
Prithviraj Sukumaran announces L2 Empuraan’s UK schedule wrap
The multi-faceted talent recently took to his official social media handles and shared a still from the UK location of the upcoming Mohanlal starrer. “#L2E End of Schedule 2!” wrote Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is seen giving instructions to his team on a microphone, in the location picture. As always, the actor-filmmaker looks dapper in the new working still of L2 Empuraan, in black winter outfits and a matching cap. Mohanlal, the leading man, was not a part of the first UK schedule.
L2 Empuraan next schedule to begin in the US
According to the latest updates, director Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team will soon travel to the US, after a short schedule break. Reportedly, the team is planning to begin the third schedule of the film in the US, by the next week. Mohanlal, who is currently busy with the final promotions of his next outing Malaikottai Vaaliban, is also set to join the cast and crew members of L2 Empuraan, for the upcoming schedule.
L2 Empuraan – Cast and Crew
Mohanlal is set to reprise his much-loved character Stephen Nedumpally aka Kureshi Ab’Ram. Prithviraj Sukumaran, on the other hand, will once again play the role of Zayed Masood, along with directing the film. The project is scripted by the popular actor-writer Murali Gopy. Sujith Vaassudev is the director of photography. Deepak Dev composes songs and the original score.
Indrajith Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Saniya Iyappan, Baiju Santhosh, Sai Kumar, Shivaji Guruvayoor, and other popular cast members of Lucifer are also set to reprise their respective roles. Many new faces including Salaar actor Karthikeya Dev, are expected to join the star cast. L2 Empuraan is jointly produced by Antony Perumbavoor and A Subaskaran, under the prestigious banners, Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions.
