L2 Empuraan, the highly anticipated action thriller that stars Mohanlal in the lead role, is one of the most anticipated upcoming projects in Malayalam cinema. The movie, directed by actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran, is the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer. The team wrapped up the Kochi schedule of the much-awaited film a few days ago. As per the recent updates, director Prithviraj and his team have kicked off the new schedule of L2 Empuraan in Gujarat.

L2 Empuraan: Prithviraj and team begin Gujarat schedule

As reported earlier, a massive shooting schedule has been planned for L2 Empuraan, comprising several popular locations both in India and abroad. The latest reports have confirmed that Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team finally kicked off the Gujarat schedule of the Mohanlal starrer recently. Indrajith Sukumaran, the popular actor who plays the role of journalist Govardhan in the film, is a part of the new schedule. A recent location click of the actor brothers is now going viral on social media handles. Mohanlal, however, has not joined the Gujarat schedule yet.

L2 Empruaan’s Gujarat connection

For the uninitiated, the big reveal of Mohanlal’s character, Khureshi Abraam, happens in the climax of Lucifer, when he gives an ultimatum to Sanghani, a Gujarati business magnate. Popular Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor made a cameo appearance in the film as Sanghani. The Lucifer climax hinted that the second installment in the franchise, L2 Empuraan, will have a Gujarati connection. However, it is yet to be revealed if Shakti Kapoor will return to reprise his role in the sequel.

L2E's upcoming schedules

Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team plan to shoot the pending portions of the action thriller at various foreign locations, including the US and Dubai, soon. Earlier, the actor-director, who also appears in a key role in the film as Zayed Masood, revealed that he is not allowed to perform stunts until June 2024, due to his injury. The multi-faceted talent reportedly plans to return to foreign locations in July 2024 to shoot some of his high-voltage action sequences in the film.
